Validation of prior learning is an individual right enshrined in both the Labour Code and the Education Code: "any person engaged in working life has the right to have their prior learning, particularly professional experience, validated with a view to acquiring a diploma, a professional title or a certificate of qualification".

It is therefore aimed at anyone who wishes to have their professional experience recognised by a diploma or a professional qualification.

VAE is open to everyone: there are no age, status (employee, craftsman, volunteer, self-employed, temporary worker, etc.) or training level criteria. The only condition is that you have at least one year's professional experience directly related to the content and level of the diploma in question.
